Case Of a 19 Year Old Boy Who Raped a 75 Year Old Woman Adjourned to 30 July

The Senior Resident Magistrate court in Mchinji has adjourned the case involving a 19 year old boy who allegedly raped a 75 year old woman, the trial will continue by the end of this month.

The suspect identified as Innocent Sakala is suspected to have raped the elderly woman in the garden when she was cutting grass to thatch her house.

Reports have indicated that the suspect offered to help the woman but in the process grabbed her by the neck and the woman fell unconscious.

The suspect allegedly took advantage of the situation to rape her and has since admitted having committed the sexual abuse.

The state is expected to parade witnesses once the case goes back to court.
