Malawi Law Society Shocked With AG Chikosa Silungwe’s Firing

The Malawi Law Society (MLS) has said it is shocked with the firing of Attorney General Dr. Chikosa Silungwe who has held the job for only a year.

MLS President Patrick Mpaka said Silungwe has been discharging his duties professionally.

However, no one knows on what grounds has Silungwe been fired.

According to Mpaka, the law states that the President can only fire the AG if he is incompetent, compromised and incapacitated.

Meanwhile, MLS has said that they are patiently waiting for President Lazarus Chakwera to give reasons on who he fired Silungwe.
