Driver of a tanker belonging to Mount Meru has been burnt to death after the tanker registration number T 88, he was driving overturned and caught fire at Watereka on the M1 road in Mzimba on Tuesday.
Mzimba Police Officer-In-Charge Stain Chaima has confirmed the development in an interview with the press.
According to Chaima, the tanker which was loaded with diesel was on its way to Lilongwe from Mzuzu.
“Upon reaching at Watereka area, the tanker swerved off the road and overturned before it burst into flames,” said Chaima.
Mount Meru is yet to comment on the matter.
