Mzuzu City Council workers down tools over CEO’s transfer plot

Mzuzu City Council workers are staging a sit-in over a dubious transfer of the Council’s Chief Executive Officer Gomezgani Nyasulu.

Its believed that this follows reports that councillors have allegedly written the local government to transfer the Chief Executive officer Gomezgani Nyasulu on reasons known to themselves.

The disagreements that started last Friday with the closing of the main entrance of the Civic Offices have now degenerated into the closure of the Chamber which accommodates the office of the Mayor.

According to information at hand, the disgruntled employees this morning clocked the Mayor for entering his office.

Mzuzu City Council Spokesperson Macdonald Gondwe has confirmed these developments saying management is on them to find solutions.
