Ken Burns Calls Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg An ‘Enemy Of The State’ And Says He Should Be JAILED

Filmmaker Ken Burns says Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is “an enemy of the state.”

In an interview with Times podcaster Kara Swisher, Ken Burns, an award-winning filmmaker, said he hopes “Zuckerberg is in jail” because he “is an enemy of the state.”

The master storyteller, 68, who was invited to Swisher’s podcast to talk about his latest project – a documentary about the great boxer Muhammad Ali called Ali, The Man, made shocking remarks about Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg.

As noted by Daily Mail, Burns brought up the tech mogul’s name unprompted. Shortly after stating that Democrat Stacey Abrams “has the closest chops to being somebody that we could carve into Mount Rushmore,” the filmmaker said:

“She’s the real deal. I mean, I hope Zuckerberg is in jail by then. This is an enemy of the state, and I mean the United States of America. He doesn’t give a sh*t about us, the United States. He knows he can transcend it. He can get away to any place. And so it’s just about filthy lucre, that’s it.”

Burns failed to mention exactly why he believes Mark Zuckerberg is a traitor.

However, he said that tech moguls like Zuckerberg, Sandberg, and others should stand trial like the Nazis at Nuremberg after the Second World War:

“Because these people — and Sheryl is a complicit — the Nuremberg of this, is if it ever happens, which it won’t, will be pretty interesting. The way that we’ve been able to temporize and say, oh, it’s okay, we’ll just go a little bit further. Right?”

Following his startling remarks, he and Swisher continued discussing documentary filmmaking – Burns’ specialty.

Ken Burns has never hidden the fact he is a prominent supporter of the Democratic Party.

This may explain his strong hostility toward Facebook’s CEO, as the social media platform has been previously accused by Democrats of allowing former President Donald Trump and other Republicans to spread misinformation.

In 2016, BuzzFeed News revealed that fake news stories outperformed actual news, leading to Trump winning the presidential elections instead of Hilary Clinton. Two years later, Facebook was slammed again after it was discovered that Cambridge Analytica, a now-defunct political consulting firm that was hired by Trump in 2016, mined the data of tens of millions of social media users.

However, earlier this year, the 45th U.S. President filed a lawsuit against Facebook, Twitter, and Google, claiming he was wrongfully censored. Donald Trump has been suspended from the platforms since January when some of his supporters raided the Capitol in a bid to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s presidential win.

According to Trump and other politicians, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms are taking advantage of their users’ personal data.
