ETG Manager Nabbed Over Harassment, Sexual Abuse Allegations

Police in Lilongwe have arrested one of the managers at Export Trading Company (ETG) at Kanengo offices, Vijay Patel, on allegations of sexual abuse and harassing employees.

According to reports, six employees, who include three women, have allegedly suffered sexual harassment.

Kanengo police spokesperson Esther Mkwanda has confirmed the arrest.

According to Mkwanda, Patel appeared in court this morning to answer charges of indecent assault and use of insulting language.

Meanwhile, the Malawi Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has also recorded a complaint on the same matter according to the Commission’s publicist Kate Kujaliwa.
