Infant born with extra 16 toes and 15 fingers which has surprised doctors

A little infant known as Hong Hong was born in January with 15 fingers and 16 toes in Pingjiang County in Hunan province.

Doctors deduced that Hong Hong had polydactylism, a genetic disorder that occurs in humans, giving them additional fingers and toes.

Polydactyly disorder is a pretty widespread disease, involving about one in every 1,000 live births, according to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Frequently, the extra numbers are reduced surgically.

The little Hong Hong’s circumstance, he has two palms on each hand and no thumbs. The ailment is usually hereditary in households, which is the issue for Hong Kong.

Hong Hong’s mother has polydactylism herself with 12 fingers and 12 toes. She and her spouse say they’re seeking medical guidance as to how best to handle their son.

However, physicians have informed that the surgery compelled to eliminate both the extra digits and to provide the kid with reconstructed thumbs would be a confounded and costly method. As of now, doctors say Hong Hong is too inexperienced to undergo surgery.

They’ve proposed that the kid be operated on between 6-months and a year old, reports China’s Sina News.

Per the records, the individual born with the most fingers and toes is Akshat Saxena who was born in India in 2010. Akshat, who has since gone through surgery for the circumstance, was born with 34 total digits 14 fingers, and 20 toes.
