Chakwera reacts to police officers abuse claims

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has swiftly acted on complaint raised by Malawians after pictures of security personnel carrying sound speakers went viral on social media.

On Friday last week, the social media was flooded with pictures of police officers carrying P/A system on their shoulders.

The incident is said to have happened at Mtakataka in Dedza District where President Chakwera made a stopover to address Malawi Congress Party (MCP) supporters.

As this was not enough, another police officer was scene shooting a video of the whole address by the President.

The development attracted criticisms from all corners with many accusing the President of abusing the police officers.

But things changed on Saturday during Balaka stopovers.

A truck with public address system saved the men in uniform from carrying the speakers on their shoulders.

Malawians have since applauded Chakwera for a swift reaction on the matter.
