Aisha Macdad Silver to represent DPP in Nkhotakota North East By-elections

Aisha Macdad Silver will represent the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in Nkhotakota North East Constituency in the forthcoming by-elections slated for October.

Silver emerged victorious in the primaries the party held on Friday last week.

DPP National Director of Elections Henry N Matemba confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.

“The DPP, through my office, would like to congratulate Aisha Macdad Silver for emerging victorious in a closely contested Nkhotakota North East primary election that took place on Friday, 24 September 2021.

“My directorate appeals to all stakeholders and the party at large to continue rendering their resources, talents and support as we march on towards defending this constituency and also winning other constituencies slated for this by-election,” reads in part the statement.

Nkhotakota North East Constituency fell vacant following the death of DPP MP in the area.
