Indian Man Murders Younger Brother After Dad Divides Property Among Them

Ludhiana: A man in Ludhiana, Punjab allegedly attacked his brother over a property dispute. Reportedly, the accused was upset as their father had divided the property among them. The accused’s family owns ‘Lucky Bakery’ in Ludhiana,India.

The incident took place in the Basant Avenue area of Ludhiana. The accused has been identified as Palwinder Singh.

The accused allegedly shot dead his younger brother Gagandeep Singh.

Reportedly, the accused used his brother’s licensed pistol for attacking him. As per the cops, the family owns a chain of bakeries named ‘Lucky Bakery’.

Days before the incident, Hardeep Singh, Palwinder and Gagandeep’s father distributed the duo’s property between them. Palwinder stayed with his family in Sant Fateh Singh Nagar while  Gagandeep lived with his parents, wife and children in Basant Avenue, The Indian Express reported.

Inspector Jagdev Singh, Sadar police station said, “Palwinder was dissatisfied with the property division. He believed he had received a lesser share so he went to Gagandeep’s home to discuss it. During a spat between the brothers and their father, Palwinder took the pistol of his younger brother and fired three shots at him in front of entire family. One of the bullets hit Gagandeep in his head and died at the spot. ”

The SHO said that the accused fled from the spot after the incident but was nabbed by the cops within a few hours. Following this, a case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against the accused and he was arrested.
