Police in Chikwawa are keeping in custody three people for allegedly inciting violence along Nchalo-Chikwawa M1 road.
The three are identified as of Friday Thole, 36, of Kulima village; Davie Kenesi, 30 of Jombo village and Gift Elias, 18, of Sekeni Village. All hail from Traditional Authority Lundu in Chikwawa District.
According to Chikwawa police spokesperson, Dickson Matemba, the trio were arrested on Monday following the strike which was organised by Minibus Owners Association of Malawi (MOAM) and the suspects blocked the road denying others access to the road.
“They were also confiscating keys and intimidating drivers who were using the road,” said Matemba.
