MCP youth blocked from holding media briefing in Lilongwe

Information reaching this publication indicates that youth from Malawi Congress Party (MCP) have been blocked from holding media briefing at the party’s headquarters in Lilongwe.

Last week Minister of Homeland Security Richard Chimwendo Banda who is also MCP’s National Youth Director also gadged the youth from holding the briefing to respond to the attacks by former United Transformation Movement (UTM) National Youth Director Bon Kalindo.

Kalindo recently has been granting various media house briefings attacking President Dr. Lazarus chakwera on several issues rocking the country.

Today the youths also organized the media briefing aiming at updating Malawians on some of the developments happening in the party.

The youth also wanted to respond to accusations made by Kalindo.

As the briefing was about to commence, some party officials advised MCP youth not proceed with the briefing.

As this was not enough, the youth were told to vacate the party’s headquarters and the youth left the premises in anger.

More details to follow…
