Chakwera says bye to all public events amid criticisms

President Lazarus Chakwera has cancelled all his upcoming public events with immediate effect amid criticisms from all corners.

Chief Secretary to the office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) Zanga-zanga Chikhosi confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.

According to Chikhosi, the president would wants to attend to emerging regional and national matters requiring his attention.

Chikhosi further said that all events that require President’s availability will be delegated to some government top officials.

The President was expected to travel to Rumphi on 1st December to preside over the launch of World Aids Day Commemorations.
