Sheriffs Invade Escom Mzuzu Service Centre: Confiscates Vehicle, Computers

Date:

Business came to a standstill this morning at Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) Mzuzu Service Centre as Sheriffs invaded the premises.

Sheriffs confiscated computers and a vehicle over the the company’s failure to compensate one of its ex-employees.

It is alleged that ESCOM failed to comply with a court order to compensate one of its temporary employees, who was allegedly unlawfully dismissed.

Some customers were turned back at the offices as most operations were compromised.

Effort to talk to ESCOM’s Public Relations Officer Innocent Chitosi proved futile.
