Newly appointed Cabinet Ministers sworn-in

Two newly appointed Minister of Transport and Public Works, Jacob Hara, Minister of Local Government, Prof Blessings Chinsinga have been sworn-in today at Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe.

The event which was presided over by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera also saw the swearing in of Director of National Intelligence Service, Dokani Ngwira.

Speaking after the ceremony Chakwera urged his two newly sworn-in cabinet ministers as well as National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director General and his deputy to rely on the help of Malawians for them to succeed in their work as public officers.

Chakwera cautioned newly sworn-in officers to avoid advancing personal interests but to serve Malawians as public office demands.

Meanwhile, Chinsinga has reported for duties at Ministry of Local Government and Rural development.

Deputy Minister of Local Government Hon. Halima Daud, MP, and Principal Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Esmie Kainja, welcomed the new Minister with excitement.
