Cat Awards Business Grants to 13 businesses

The Centre for Agriculture Transformation (CAT) has approved business grants to 13 companies that have emerged successful in responding to the 2nd proposal for business incubation and commercialization.

CAT has granted the business incubation through a Foundation for Smoke –Free World (FSFW) with support from the Agricultural Transformation Initiative (ATI) at a ceremony that took place on Thursday at BICC in Lilongwe.

CAT Executive Director Macleod Nkhoma said through the partnership building and sustenance the businesses will support smallholder farmers through diversification.

“We want to see more of such businesses and companies coming forth to partner with us in our collective quest to achieving agricultural transformation,” Nkhoma explained.

FSFW/ATI Program Manager Riz Khan said their biggest objectives are to help more access of markets to the farmers to have more resilient by exposing value added products, and sustaining Malawi business.
