Justice Frank Kapanda of the Supreme Court of Appeal has barred supporters for business mogul Thom Mpinganjira from attending court proceedings.
Justice Kapanda is currently hearing an application by Mpinganjira challenging High Court of Malawi Judge John Chirwa’s decision to dismiss his bail application pending appeal.
He said: “This is a chamber matter. You will hear from the media.”
The notable sympathisers at the court include Democratic Progressive Party regional governor for the south Charles Mchacha and former Wanderers supporters chairman Yona Malunga.
Meanwhile, supporters have gathered outside the court chanting songs of praise while carrying placards.
In the placards, the supporters are demanding for the immediate release of Mpinganjira.
