Govt Identifies Financier Of Salima-Lilongwe Water Project

A financier for the 260 billion Kwacha Salima-Lilongwe water project has been identified, but the Ministry of Finance and Khato Civils are being tight lipped to reveal the financier.

Khato Civils identified the said financier and government has endorsed the proposal and a loan agreement is currently being worked on.

This has been revealed when officials from Treasury, Lilongwe Waterboard, Khato Civils appeared before the parliamentary committee on Natural Resources.

The financier has been identified a year after the World Bank rejected to fund the project whose aim is to reduce water shortages on Lilongwe.
