Councilors against re-election of Ndipo as Mayor for Blantyre City

Some Ward Councilors in the commercial capital Blantyre are against the re-election of councilor Wild Ndipo as Mayor.

Ndipo is serving his third term of office after emerging victorious during the polls which were held on January 19, 2022 at Civic Office.

The polls were marred by disagreement following an injunction obtained by some councilors.

Blantyre City Council Chief Executive Officer stopped the polls after being served with an injunction but after some discussions the polls continued and Ndipo was re-elected.

Speaking in an interview with the press spokesperson of the disgruntled councilors a Phillip Litchowa Kameta Blantyre City has no mayor and Deputy Mayor at the moment.

Effort to talk to BCC spokesperson Debora Luka proved futile.
