Police in Dowa have arrested a 23-year-old man, Fatsani Mbeya for allegedly cultivating and found in possession of Indian Hemp without a license.
Mbeya was arrested on the wee hours of Thursday, February 24 2022 at Chiguduli Village along Nathomba River in Dowa District following a tip off police received this week that the suspect is cultivating and selling Indian Hemp.
Following a tip off, police officers organised a raid leading to the arrest of the suspect where seizure of 96 plants and half jumbo of loose Indian Hemp was made.
During the raid, police also uprooted Indian Hemp plants at the garden of the suspect.
He will appear before court soon to answer charges of cultivating Indian Hemp and found in possession of Indian Hemp without a license.
Fatsani Mbeya comes from Chiguduli Village in Traditional Authority Msakambewa in Dowa District.
