Zodwa wabantu calls police after her Ben 10 refused to settle bills

Flamboyant socialite and television personality Zodwa Libram, popularly known as Zodwa Wabantu, had to call for police intervention following an altercation with her new Ben 10 boyfriend, after she allegedly refused to foot the bill for his Uber ride from Montecasino to her house in Fourways, north of Johannesburg.

According to police officers who attended to Libram’s call, she had allegedly given her boyfriend an undisclosed amount of money to spend during a night out with his friends last Saturday, but he apparently spent it all on drinks and did not have the means to get back home.

However, things took an ugly turn when Libram allegedly refused to pay the Uber driver, citing that she had already given him money. The boyfriend then allegedly started to threaten and insult Libram in front of the driver, forcefully demanding money from her.
“Later the boyfriend’s family was called and they apologised to Zodwa, telling her that he is not a violent person.”

They also told City Press that the Uber driver had eventually been paid after both parties calmed down.

Zodwa confirmed to City Press that she went to the Douglasdale Police Station for gender-based violence concerns.

However, she said the boyfriend had not physically harmed her. She was not willing to divulge more details because she said she was in the middle of filming a reality show to be aired by Moja Love.

“It shows that our cases are not safe with the police. I reported it because I don’t want to be a victim of gender-based violence. A lot of women fall victim to violence and it is about time for police to protect us.”

Libram had previously been involved in an altercation with police at the same station, for allegedly breaking lockdown curfew regulations.

The 36-year-old took to Instagram, accusing the cops of soliciting a bribe and, when she refused, resorted to arresting her for driving in the wee hours of the morning.
