NU Health workers storm DC’s Office over Delayed Salaries

Ntcheu District Council health workers have stormed the district commissioner’s office seeking clarification over their delayed salaries and leave grants.

One of the workers, who opted for anonymity, says they wonder that the district is always late in processing salaries and leave grants as compared to other districts.

While acknowledging the delay, Ntcheu District Commissioner Francis Matewere attributes the situation to delays by the treasury in releasing the funds.

He has however assured the workers that salaries will be ready by tomorrow, Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the workers have been warned to down tools if this fails to happen as assured.
