Court Denies Bail To Four Malawians And Pakistan National Who Were Arrested For Illegal Possession Of Pangolin

A Senior Resident Magistrate Court in Mangochi has today denied bail to four Malawians and a Pakistan National who were arrested for suspected illegal possession of a live Pangolin.

In his bail ruling, Senior Resident Magistrate Rodrick Michongwe, said there’s every likelihood that granted bail, suspects can jump bail.

Magistrate Michongwe has since adjourned to 28 and 29 of March 2022 for hearing of the case.

The four Malawians, Innocent Chiuja, 35, Malinga Kaunda, 34, Jailosi Khozomba, 27, Ishmael Japani, 26 were present in court while Allie Mahommed, 41, a Pakistan National was not in court as his lawyer Jai Banda told court that his client is sick.

All the suspects were arrested in Mangochi on 4th March 2022.
