Gelzelder Geoffrey’s Filling Station robbed in Salima

Information reaching this publication indicates that unknown thieves have stolen CCTV recorder, groceries and other assorted items at Nalikule Total Filling Station belonging to estranged Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Secretary General situated along Salima road.

According to information at hand, the robbery incident happened on the wee hours of Friday.

Kanengo Police officials have confirmed of the robbery incident in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.

“Facts are that reporter [Grezelder Jeffrey] received a call from supervisor Vanwick Msakachalo DOB 8/09/1976 village Chitukula, Traditional authority Nthondo, District Ntchisi cell 0999663600 at the filling station and she informed Kanengo Police as she started off for scene.

“Both her and Police arrived at scene where it was learnt that at time of occurrence two petrol attendants, shop attendants were attacked by seven unknown criminals armed with panga knives and crowbar,” reads in part the police report.

Added the report: “The guard fled the scene upon seeing the criminals who when arrived tied attendants with tyre twine, broke into reporters office where they stole CCTV recorder, groceries and stole assorted airtime after attempting to break into cash chest which they failed opening. Value of theft and damage to be advised.

“They wounded one shop attendant namely Tsalani Banda with a panga knife in the head. Victim found to have gone to Deayang Hospital for treatment.”

Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt.
