Chilima breaks silence on rising costs of goods

Vice-President Saulos Chilima has said the solution to the current rising prices of goods is to empower people economically.

He said this at Mbulumbuzi Market in Chiradzulu where he was addressing a gathering after inspecting the e-ticketing system at the market.

At the market, some people were chanting ‘zinthu zakwera’ (prices of goods have risen’.

“We know that prices of goods and services have risen and the solutions are either the prices should go down or people should be empowered economically to afford them. Therefore, government will make sure that people are empowered economically,” the vice-president has said.

Chilima is on a tour in the Southern Region inspecting progress on reforms and other developments that various public entities are undertaking.
