A 35-year-old man identified as Anthony Binoliyasi is in custody for allegedly killing his 67-year-old biological father, Genesali Binoliyasi in Mangochi.
According to Mangochi Police Public Relations Officer Amina Daudi, Binoliyasi was murdered in a skirmish which started when he barred the suspect from cutting sugar cane in his garden.
“The directive angered the suspect who went into the kitchen and took a hoe handle with which he hit his father in the head,” Daudi has said.
The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at Mangochi District Hospital where he was referred to for treatment.
Anthony Binoliyasi will appear before court soon to answer charges of murder.
