Watchman arrested for raping a woman at a guest house

Police in Chiradzulu have arrested a watchman on allegation that he raped a woman who came to lodge at a guest house with her husband at Yasin Trading Center in the district.

Chiradzulu Police Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Innocent Moses, has told the press that the woman (name withheld) had picked a quarrel with her husband which made the husband to sleep in his car.

He said this is when the guard took advantage to enter into the room in which the woman was sleeping through a window.

Moses said the suspect was caught by the woman’s husband after she shouted for help.

The suspect, Mpinganjira Pensulo, 60 who hails from Mkwinda Village , Traditional Authority, Chiseka in Lilongwe district is expected to be taken to court soon to answer charges of rape.
