Irate Mob kills a man over Goat Theft in Balaka

An angry mob in Balaka has killed a man who was allegedly caught stealing goats in TA Chanthunya’s area in the district.

Balaka Police Publicist Chisomo Potani Kanyimbi has identified the man as Petros Nathalo.

According to Kanyimbi, the suspect, with his colleague, who managed to escape, hacked the owner of the goats Dyson Chiwaya three times before attempting to steal the goats.

The Police spokesperson added that Nathalo was later apprehended by angry villagers before badly being beaten and left for dead.

He was later taken to Balaka district hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
