Police in Ntcheu have arrested at least nine people suspected to be criminals who were stealing from motorists by blocking the M1 road.
According to a statement seen by this publication, the suspected criminals were blocking the M1 Road with stones making it hard for the motorists to pass through and in the process robbing them.
According to National Police spokesperson Harry Namwaza, the arrests were made in the wee hours of today,Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
He added that the police managed to seize weapons such as pangas from the suspected criminals.
The suspects will appear in court soon to answer the charges leveled against them.
