Human rights and governance commentator Undule Mwakasungula has asked Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa to concentrate on uniting the party rather than giving ultimatums to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
Mwakasungula said this when reacting to a 14 days ultimatum issued by Nankhumwa asking President Chakwera to suspend the crop inspection exercise and find solutions to economic challenges rocking the country.
In his speech, Mwakasungula argued that the opposition DPP cannot and will not be an alternative to the current problems the country is facing now.
He said the DPP is currently struggling with leadership fights, bickering and divisions within and that Nankhumwa must act and speak as Leader of opposition and not as some leaders of Civil Society groupings who have been calling for ultimatums day and night with no direction.
Mwakasungula then asked Nankhumwa to instead engage the government and collectively find solutions.
