Medical Council on Dr. Chanozga Nyirenda’s neck for leaking Martse death on social media

The Medical Council of Malawi (MCM) has said it will investigate the conduct of a doctor who is believed to have revealed the death of musician Martin “Martse” Nkhata through his social media page, allegedly before seeking consent from the family.

Registrar of the Council, Davie Zolowere, said it is premature for the council to say whether he is guilty or not, until the investigation is conducted.

The accused Chanozga Nyirenda told the press that he shared the information because he was traumatised about the death of the musician.

Meanwhile, President of the Society of Medical Doctors Dr. Victor Mithi said the society will take action on the matter.

Martse died on Monday morning at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital after suffering from multiple burns following a fire outbreak in a house he was sleeping in last Friday night in Monkey Bay.

The hip hop artist shot to fame with his track Mwano.’
