9 Somali Nationals Arrested In Machinga For Illegal Entry

Police at Liwonde in Machinga district are keeping nine Somali nationals in custody for illegal entry into the country.
They have also arrested a Malawian driver, Jackson Yahaya, 27 after he was caught transporting the migrants to Nayuchi from Chingeni in Ntcheu.
Liwonde police station public relations officer, Sergeant Ngwashape Msume confirmed the development saying the arrests were made during routine patrols within Liwonde township.
He said the nine were intercepted a Honda Freed motor vehicle registration number DA 5618, driven by Yahaya, that was ferrying the nine immigrants.
They will appear before court soon.
