Mutharika, DPP Mourn Martse

The Former President, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika , the Former First Lady, Madame Gertrude Mutharika and the entire Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) are mourning the death of Malawi’s hip-hop artist Martin Nkhata, well-known as ‘Martse’ who dies Queens Elizabeth Central hospital in Blantyre yesterday.

In a statement, Mutharika and DPP have described Martse as role model to many young people in the society.

“Martse was a shining star and a role model to many young people and society at large. His passing leaves the performing arts industry much more poorer.”

“We wish his family, colleagues, friends and fans strength as they navigate through this difficult period,” the statement added.

The 2021 MASO award winner died after suffering from burns after the house he slept in Monkey bay, Mangochi caught fire.

May His Soul Rest In Peace, True Hip-Hop King.
