Police in Chikwawa have re-arrested an inmate who escaped a lawful custody at Chichiri Prison in Blantyre in January this year.
According to a police report the suspect has been identified as a 25 year old Charles Charlie a robbery convict.
Charlie was arrested in the early hours of today at Nkumaniza near Malawi/Mozambique border, where he was seeking refuge.
The suspect has been identified as Charles Charlie 25, of Kambelengende Village in the area of Traditional Authority Tengani in Nsanje District.
Police say Charlie, whose robbery sentence expires in 2025, will be taken to court for the charge of escaping from the lawful custody.
