Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Councillor for Blantyre City Soche East Leonard Chimbanga has criticized estranged party’s Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey for crying foul after being not invited at the Indaba which was chaired by former President Peter Mutharika.
The opposition DPP held an Indaba at earlier this week at PAGE house in Mangochi but Jeffrey wa Jeffrey and DPP Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa were not invited at the meeting.
The move prompted Jeffrey wa Jeffrey to fire warning shots at Mutharika, saying she will file a lawsuit on the matter.
But writing on his official facebook page Chimbanga blasted Jeffrey wa Jeffrey for being a crybaby.
“With all due respect you’re supposed to be the CEO of DPP what is it that you’re doing to show that you’re the Secretary General?Can you show the minutes of the party of all the party activities you have been holding with your camp and Team Nakhumwa introduced at M’Gona – Lilongwe? Your Camp President Nakhumwa was clear that “Mukufuna Kuchitenga Chinthuchi” Which thing?
“It’s easy to play in the courts but move your agenda of taking the thing. You have your team to which you are secretary-general. How does the secretary arrive to make decisions at the party? You’re just a party of the DPP secretariat that doesn’t make your office the sole decision-maker of party activities. If you can hold your meetings and rallies why cry foul that you were not invited to a particular meeting. Why do you feel entitled? As the CEO why don’t you call for a meeting yourself? The truth you communicate matters in the direction of the party. Not turning yourself into the party,” said Chimbanga in the statement.
Meanwhile, Jeffrey wa Jeffrey is yet to comment on the matter.
