DPP Councillor Leonard Chimbanga attacks ex-Minister Mark Botomani for endorsing Nankhumwa

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Councilor for Blantyre City Soche East Leonard Chimbanga has lambasted former Minister of Information Mark Botomani who is also Zomba Chisi Member of Parliament for endorsing the Party’s Vice President for South Kondwani Nankhumwa as potential candidate in the forthcoming polls.

On Sunday, Botomani is quoted to have said that Nankhumwa is the best candidate to lead the party in 2025 polls.

He then urged Nankhumwa not to fear anyone.

But writing on his official facebook page Chimbanga criticized Botomani for the move.

“The Outgoing member of Parliament for Zomba Chisi Mark Botomani today urged his camp President not to fear anyone as he is the potential candidate.

“Hon Bottoman, It’s unfortunate you push your agenda playing victim every time. Who is threatening your Leader? You’re so desperate to show relevance in this matter showing disrespect to the party and your regional Vice President Hon Bright Msaka. The minute they organize something without your rebellious self you rush to the courts. You reduced yourself to political factionalism making your position of director of research unattainable as you serve an individual than the party. What substance have you contributed to the party since DPP lost the election? Posterity will answer individuals like you,” wrote Chimbanga.

Botomani is yet to comment on the matter.
