Man dies after being hit by a hot pipe in Mchinji

A 37-year-old man Charles Mwale has died in Mchinji after being hit by a hot pipe which got burst while brewing kachaso beer at Kaombe 3 village.

Mchinji Police Spokesperson Maxwell Jailosi has confirmed the incident, saying on this fateful day, Mwale and his wife were at their home brewing the beer as usual using firewood on Thursday June 23, 2022.

“In the cause of brewery, a hot drum pipe burst and hit the deceased’s head from which he sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot,” said Jailosi.

He further said the matter was later reported to Mchinji Police Station where together with medical doctors visited the scene.

A postmortem has revealed that the cause of the death was fatal head injury secondary to heavy loss of blood, according to Jailosi.
