Nankhumwa fires Vuwa Kaunda as DPP Chief Whip in Parliament

Leader of opposition in Parliament Kondwani Nankhumwa who is also Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South has fired Member of Parliament for Nkhata-Bay Central Symon Vuwa Kaunda as Chief Whip in Parliament.

Nankhumwa has replaced Vuwa Kaunda with Member of Parliament for Nkhata Bay North West Julius Chione Mwase.

While Member of Parliament for Mangochi Central Victoria Kingstone has been appointed as DPP Deputy Chief Whip replacing Ronnie Chijere Phiri.

According to the statement addressed to Speaker of Parliament, the appointments are with immediate effects.

DPP is yet to comment on the matter.
