Wirima Expresses Excitement Over Newly Perfume Factory In Nkhotakota

Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Madalitso Wirima has expressed excitement over the perfume factory which has been opened in Nkhotakota.

She said the factory will help the vetiver grass roots farmers to export their products to earn forex which will help in the development of the country.

Wirima made the remarks at the perfume factory opening ceremony in Mtambalika village Traditional Authority Mwadzama in the same district.

“The investment is in line with the Malawi 2063 vision agenda where agriculture is featuring highly most especially in the industrialization and commercialization,” She said.

She added that she is overwhelmed because the factory is situated in the rural area which means it will easier for the farmers to sell their products and at the same time people in the community will benefit a lot in terms of job opportunity at the factory.

Commenting on the matter Shigeki Komatsubara, Resident Representative for United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) said the Organisation was established to help Malawian young entrepreneurs to make profits in their businesses.

“So far together with other business experts we have supported 53 companies in Malawi through various business areas and 350,000 people have benefited through increased income besides creating 2000 jobs,” he explained.

The perfume factory will help a lot of Malawians and the country at large to be an export country and at the end earning a lot of forex hence increase in development.
