Police in Mzuzu are keeping in custody city’ mayor, who is also councillor for Lubinga ward Gift Desire Nyirenda for allegedly defiling a 14year old girl who happens to be his niece.
Mzuzu police spokesperson Paul Tembo has comfirmed Nyirenda is suspected to have been defiling the minor several times.
He will appear in court today
