UTM supporters baying for the blood of Lucius Banda

Some United Transformation Movement (UTM) supporters are pushing for the resignation of the party’s Campaign Director Lucius Banda following the poor run of form at the just ended by-elections in three wards.

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) held by-elections in three ward and the officials results saw the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) claiming two seats while the other seat went to the United Democratic Front (UDF) which is currently headed by Lilian Patel.

The supporters are accusing Banda of being inactive in politics and putting much effort in his music career.

According to the supporters, since his election during the party’s convention Lucius has never campaigned for the party.

The supporters also blame Banda’s failure to identify a candidate in Balaka in the by-elections.

Banda is yet to comment on the matter.
