Lilongwe City Council revives red star campaign

The Lilongwe City Council has embarked on what it is calling ‘urban renewal drive’ through which the council is enforcing demolition of old buildings, maintenance and face lifting of buildings not being well taken care of.

The city’s Mayor Richard Banda is leading a team of officials marking red, green and yellow stars on both private and public buildings to be affected.

Among other buildings to be demolished is the Lambat shop in old town while the Town hall has been marked for maintenance.
