Linda Kunje slapped with 18 months jail sentence

Chief Resident Magistrate Austin Banda has sentenced former Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Commissioner, Linda Kunje, to 18 months imprisonment for obstructing a presidential convoy.

Her former driver, Jones Tewesa, has been handed 15 months imprisonment.

The two were convicted of criminal negligence after blocking a presidential convoy on December 20, 2020.

The development means Kunje will be in prison for 18 months.
