Akweni Sympathizes With Chilima

Secretary General for the United Transformation Movement (UTM) Patricia Kaliati has told the party’s president Saulos Chilima who is also the country’s vice president that they will stand by him no matter what.

Akweni as she is fondly called, said this yesterday in Blantyre during a political rally dubbed UTM mu Ghetto which took place at Nyambadwe ground.

She went further apologizing to Chilima for what he is going through.

“We as UTM, we would like to apologize to you our president Dr Saulos Chilima, for what you are going through, only God knows,” said Kaliati.

Kaliati’s sympathy to Chilima comes at a time the vice president is accused of being involved in corruption activities by UK based businessman Zuneth Sattar.

After the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) named Chilima in their report, President Lazarus Chakwera withheld all delegated duties for Chilima to pave way for investigations.

However, Chilima is still waiting to be formerly charged and investigated by the Anti-graft body which has remained silent on the matter,
