Police Hunting For Robbers In Lilongwe

Police at Lumbadzi in Lilongwe are hunting for unknown assailants who robbed a 23-year old Mzuzu University student identified as Mike Charlie a sum of K1.1 Million meant for school fees.

According to Lumbadzi Police Spokesperson Felix Kwinyani, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening at Blessings Private Hospital in Lumbadzi.

It is reported that the victim who is a student at Mzuni but currently staying in Lumbadzi was on the said date coming from Area 49 where he got the aforementioned amount of money meant for school fees.

Charlie boarded a Honda Freed taxi, black in colour but registration number not advised at Kanengo depot heading towards Lumbadzi with four occupants on board who disguised themselves as passengers.

Upon arrival at Blessings Private Hospital the taxi driver stopped claiming that one of the passengers wanted to ease himself leaving other passengers behind who started pulling the victim outside of the motor vehicle while spraying some substances unto his face.

The victim escaped from the scene leaving his hustle bag behind which contained the said amount of money and the criminals cruised from the scene heading Kanengo direction.

Meanwhile, police are hunting for the assailants who will answer charges of robbery once found.
