13 people arrested in Ntchisi for killing 48 year old man


13 people including forestry guards have been arrested on suspicion that they killed a 48-year-old Samson Mwaza and injured three others at Kaombe forest in Ntchisi District last month.

Spokesperson for Ntchisi police, Yohane Tasowana,has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Tasowana, the suspects were arrested yesterday in the district.

Tasowana said among the suspects seven have been charged with murder while six have been charged with unlawful wounding.

It is reported that on the day, the deceased together with his 14-year-old son went to forest to fetch firewood and were caught by forest guards who allegedly assaulted and left him for dead.
