Man arrested for killing his grandson suspected of stealing Mk3,000

Police in Mangochi are keeping in custody a 53-year-old man, who is alleged to have murdered his 24-year-old grandson who was being accused of stealing K3,000.

Mangochi Police Spokesperson Amina Daudi has identified the suspect as Muda Allisen, and the deceased as Namazani Elliot from Traditional Authority Chomwe in the district.

Daudi said on Tuesday the suspect allegedly assaulted the deceased and thereafter tied both his legs and arms with rubber ropes until he died yesterday.

The suspect will appear in court soon.
