8 Human Traffickers Denied Bail

Lilongwe Chief Resident Magistrate Court has denied bail eight suspects accused of Human Trafficking in the famous Oman Slavery deal.

The eight accused persons, including three police officers, one medical officer, one immigration officer and three businesspersons.

They were all arrested in relation to trafficking in persons deal which led to some Malawians taken to Oman where they were sexually and physically abused.

The accused persons; Tinenenji Nsaku, Goodson Makala, Aisha Ali, Chancy Namaheya, Douglas Banda, Killion Kathakamba, Happiness Nkhoma and Manase Robster Nyirenda have been denied bail on grounds that they may jump bail.

They have since been remanded to Maula Prison, awaiting continuation of the case on 9 November 2022.
