Parliament Secretariat blocks Namalomba from discharging duties as PAC Chair

There is drama at Public Accounts Committee of Parliament (PAC) meeting as members of the committee are failing to agree on the issue of leadership.

Shadric Namalomba, Chairperson of the committee had earlier called for the meeting to discuss a number of inquiries including the alleged missing of 30 billion kwacha fertilizer funds.

But out of 21 members of the Committee, only 13 members including Namalomba showed up during today’s meeting.

No Democratic Progressive Party – DPP member showed up during the meeting including Mark Botoman who was elected Chair of the Committee months ago.

Parliament secretariat has told the committee that the committee cannot have any meeting as the Speaker suspended all PAC meetings until the committee’s leadership court issues are resolved.
