Man arrested for defiling a 3 year old girl in Salima

Salima police station is keeping a 49-year-old man in custody for allegedly defiling a three year-old girl.

Spokesperson for the station Jacob Khembo has identified the suspect as John Monta from Namizi village TA Maganga in the district.

According to Khembo, the suspect on Thursday had requested the mother of the victim to send the girl to his house for left over Nsima (Mkute) where he allegedly committed the offence.

A report from Salima district hospital indicated that the victim was indeed defiled and the suspect is expected to appear in court soon.
